Ali Child Graduates From UNLV
LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Maryum Ali was a bit worried her famous father would miss her big moment Saturday.
The eldest child of former heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali said she planned to instruct her father to stay focused during her graduation ceremony at UNLV.
``If I don’t say something, he’ll be signing autographs while I’m walking across (the) stage,″ she said. ``I know him, and he just can’t say no.″
About 50 friends and family members, including her father, were to attend the graduation ceremony.
Maryum, 30, already has produced at least one album of rap music, and has done comedy shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
She plans to move back to Los Angeles this summer to get a job in social work and to try to sell a sitcom. In a year, she hopes to go to graduate school or law school.
