Mobile home fire leaves 2 dogs dead

LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine (AP) — Fire officials say two dogs have died in a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Maine.

Fire Lt. Nixon Ortiz says the fire started in a wood stove and spread through the rest of the home in Livermore Falls Saturday afternoon.

Fire Chief Ed Hastings says the home was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in 45 minutes. Two dogs inside the home died, but no humans were injured.

Hastings says the owner of the home was at work when the fire broke out.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
