North Huntingdon to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

North Huntingdon area residents who want to properly dispose of unused medications and pills, including opioids, can take them to the North Huntingdon police station, 11279 Center Highway, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27.

The police are participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which accepts unused pills, including opioids, as well as medicated creams, liquids or patches. The items collected will be boxed and turned over to the federal Drug Enforcement Agency for disposal.

The police will not take needles, EpiPens, syringes or other sharp devices.
