Dartmouth College professor accused of plagiarism
HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — A Dartmouth College professor has been accused of plagiarizing other professors.
New Hampshire Public Radio reports a Dartmouth College investigation committee found that Dr. H. Gilbert Welch plagiarized work by associate professor Samir Soneji and another researcher. The research measured the benefits of breast cancer screenings.
Soneji says he asked Welch to give credit if he used his and his partner’s findings.
Welch said in an email that he disagreed with the school’s finding and that the paper was a “natural progression” of his work. He teaches medicine at the Dartmouth Institute.
Dartmouth did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
