January 27, 2019

Fort Wayne police detectives early today arrested Gerald Pinkston at a city residence.

Pinkston, 22, has been sought in the Thanksgiving night shooting deaths of three people on Downingtown Drive. He was charged with three counts of murder and was being held in the Allen County Jail, police said in a statement.

Police believe Pinkston took part in the shooting deaths of Jevonn Johnson, 23; Colton D. Messmer, 20 and Tracey A. Andrews, 21. Two others were shot but survived.

After a long-term investigation, police said, detectives determined Pinkston was living at a home in the 300 block of Dunbar Lane. Officers surrounded the home shortly after midnight and made the arrest.
