Groton-Dunstable Nears Tourney Berth
The Groton-Dunstable golf team inched closer to a state tournament berth with a 190-198 win over Westboro at Westboro Country Club on Thursday.
Jared Leclerc fired a 1-under 35 for G-D (8-3). James Willson and Ethan Loomis carded matching 37s.
Jackie Stiles shot a 39 and Ivan Sturm had a 42. The Crusaders face North Middlesex on Friday.

Lowell (6-6) was led by Matt and Ben Asselin, who both won 2-up. Patrick Cote won, 2&1.
Nick Mandeville halved his match.
In an MVC Division 2 matchup, the Redmen traveled to Merrimack Valley Golf Course and brought home a dominant victory.
Cam Grace and Anthony Pecci each shot a 39. Individual winners for Tewksbury (4-3) were Grace (2 up), Kyle Lombardo (3&1), Ben Froment (2&1), Pecci (3&2), John Beatrice (3&2), Jake Nordstrom (3&1) and Sam White (2&1).
Tewksbury best ball winners were Grace and Lombardo (1 up), Pecci and Beatrice (3&1) and Nordstrom & White (2&1).
Andover defeated Chelmsford in a Merrimack Valley Conference match at Renaissance Golf Club.
Senior capt. Jarred Huggins had the best round in his four years on the team.
He was medalist on the day with a 2-under par 34 while winning his match.
Other individual winners for Chelmsford were Griffin Green and Jack Adamson.
DJ Fantasia (1 up), Matt Tucker (4&2) and Collin Cameron (4&3) won their matches and carded 39s for Billerica (6-5).
The Indians also got wins from Jason Babineau (4&3), Justin Sterin (4&3), Garrett Murphy (5&4) and Connor McGonagle (5&4).
Jack Hutchings halved his match with Dracut’s Caulin Martel.
Andrew Dickson’s 39 was the low round for the Middies.

The Crusaders’ 184 points is the highest team score in team history during the rout of Tyngsboro at Four Oaks CC in Dracut.
Nate Sayer posted 38 points for Lowell Catholic, while Connor Doherty (34 points) and James Giblin (32 points) were also terrific.
Sophomore Alex Forziati shot a 38 for Littleton (7-2-1) at Groton Country Club.
Aaron King carded a 40 for the Tigers.
