Waupun Police Beat 3-6, 2019

Traffic stop — Wednesday at 7:58 a.m., an officer made a traffic stop at West Brown and South West streets. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.

Drugs — Wednesday at 12:23 p.m., police responded to the smell of marijuana in the 200 block of East Main Street.

Traffic stop — Wednesday at 6:56 p.m., an officer made a traffic stop at Beaver Dam and South Madison streets. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and not having insurance.

Fraud — On Wednesday at 9:30 p.m., police responded to the 700 block of Maple View Drive for a fraud complaint. The complainant observed fraudulent charges on his or her credit card.

Warrant — Saturday at 1:12 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on East Main Street at Young Street. A 19-year-old Waupun woman was cited for operating after revocation. A 28-year-old Waupun man was taken into custody for a retail theft warrant and a failure to appear warrant, both through Fond du lac County. The man was turned over to a Fond du Lac County deputy.

Warrant — Saturday at 1:59 p.m., police conducted a subject stop in the 800 block of East Brown Street. A 22-year-old Elkhorn man was taken into custody for a battery warrant through Walworth County. The man was transported to the Dodge County Jail.

Welfare check — Saturday at 9:11 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Rock Avenue for a suicidal subject. A 26-year-old Waupun man was transported to the hospital.

Welfare check — Saturday at 8:44 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 800 block of East Brown Street for a suicidal subject. A safety plan was put in place by Dodge County Human Services for a 19-year-old Waupun woman.

Scam — Sunday at 10:43 a.m., police responded to a residence in the 900 block of East Jefferson Street for a scam complaint. Police learned a 53-year-old Waupun woman was sending an unknown out-of-state person large sums of money. The woman was advised to stop sending money.

Theft — Sunday at 5:01 p.m., police responded to a residence in the 800 block of East Brown Street for a theft of property complaint. Police made contact with a 41-year-old Waupun woman and a 45-year-old Waupun woman. Charges of theft, obstruction and trespass to a dwelling will be referred to the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office against the two women.
