Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy Now Accepting Enrollments for 2019-2020 School Year

MANISTEE, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 28, 2019--Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy (MGLVA), a full-time online public school academy, welcomes students in kindergarten through 12 th grade to enroll for the 2019-2020 school year.

MGLVA is tuition-free to all students who reside in Michigan. Authorized by Manistee Area Public Schools, and delivered entirely online, MGLVA offers a personalized approach to learning, delivering rich, engaging curriculum designed to assist students who seek alternative pathways to education.

While working towards their high school diplomas, MGLVA students can participate in the Destinations Career Program and discover exciting options for their future in a variety of career fields, including: Business, Health Sciences, and IT.

They can also earn college credits through partnerships with local colleges and universities and prepare to take industry-recognized certification exams upon graduation.

Overall, MGLVA offers challenging academic curriculum focused on college preparation. Students take a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, English language arts, history, art and music. Electives include world languages, as well as high school honors courses. MGLVA also offers student clubs, in-person field trips and social gatherings to foster a sense of school community.

Virtual classes are taught by Michigan-licensed teachers who provide instruction daily during live online class sessions, and regularly engage with students via phone, email and one-to-one or small-group meetings.

Students choose online school for a variety of reasons including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and the ability to support extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. MGLVA’s online platform gives students the opportunity to pursue their academic goals in a supportive environment and at an appropriate pace for their learning style.
