Stone Oak location of Sam’s Boat closed suddenly

March 6, 2019

The seafood spot Sam’s Boat Gulf Coast Kitchen + Sports Bar in the Stone Oak area has closed, according to a sign posted at the restaurant Wednesday.

“Sorry, as of today, Sam’s Boat will be closed indefinitely,” reads the notice, which was posted on the San Antonio Restaurants Facebook page. Calls to the restaurant at 1827 N. Loop 1604 E. went unanswered. The office of the regional seafood chain, with other locations in Austin and the Houston area, did not respond to calls or message.

Sam’s Boat opened in San Antonio in early 2017. The closure marks the second recent seafood exit in the Stone Oak area in the past week. River City Seafood & Grill, located just off Loop 1604, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation and closed last week.
