Critter Dinner features unique variety of food
ONA — No animals were safe at Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church in Ona as a crowd of hungry people lined up to get a taste of wild game at the church’s annual Critter Dinner on Saturday evening.
The spread included locally familiar fauna like deer, trout, catfish, squirrel and even raccoon. More bizarre options included alligator, oxtail and mountain oysters. The various meats were accompanied by a selection of covered dishes and desserts.
The dinner has taken place at the church for more than 15 years.
