CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) _ An American Airlines flight to Dallas-Fort Worth landed at Dulles International Airport just after taking off Tuesday from National Airport when the pilot did not get the throttle response from one engine that he expected.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith said the pilot noticed the problem on the Boeing 757 immediately after takeoff Tuesday afternoon. Flight 421 made a normal landing at Dulles and its 185 passengers disembarked. Smith said they were being put on other American flights out of Dulles.
