NUREMBERG, Germany (AP) _ Robert Reichel scored two goals Tuesday to lead the Czech Republic, the two-time defending champions at the Hockey World Championships, to a 3-1 comeback victory over Switzerland.

In Hanover, Italy advanced to the second round with a 4-4 tie with Norway, while Sweden beat Ukraine 5-0 in Cologne to clinch its place in the next round.

After an embarrassing 2-2 draw with Germany, which is back in the A-pool for the first time since 1997, the Czechs looked barely more convincing against the Swiss. Both teams had already qualified for the next round.

Martin Pluss scored from the top of the left circle for Switzerland at 15:56 of the first period. Reichel tied it 41 seconds into the second period. The Czech Republic made it 2-1 at 3:57 into the third period on a goal by Viktor Ujcik and Reichel scored the final goal into an empty net in the final minute.
