Cart Smarts: Is seafood part of your weekly diet?

Staff WriterMay 16, 2019

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that adults consume 8 ounces of seafood per week. This typically equals two servings of seafood.

Are you reaching this goal each week? One of my favorite seafood picks is salmon. Whether it is slow-roasted in the oven or grilled over an open flame, it’s tasty and nutritious. Below are some of the many health benefits of salmon.

• Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA, which have been shown to improve heart health, diabetes, and memory.

• Salmon is high in protein. A 4-ounce serving of salmon provides about 20 grams of protein.
