ATF investigating church fire in Tennessee
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Federal authorities are investigating a fire at a church in Tennessee.
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives spokesman Michael Knight says investigators are looking into whether the fire early Thursday at The First Korean Presbyterian Church in Memphis is similar to other church fires.
Memphis Fire Department spokesman Wayne Cooke said Thursday that the origin and cause of the fire have not been determined.
Cooke says total damage is estimated at more than $100,000.
Knight said ATF investigates fires at houses of worship. He says the ATF is using a bomb and arson tracking system as part of the probe.
