Aaron Eckhardt turns into a fan at the Golden Globes.

The actor who was nominated in 2006 for his role in “Thank You For Smoking” was a presenter with Paula Patton this time, something he really enjoys.

“I like watching the nominees get nervous because I’m really close to them,” Eckhardt said about his seat in the ballroom. “I get to see when their category’s coming up. There’s so much pressure in everybody’s face. They get so intense. I’ve been there.”

Eckhardt, who quit drinking nine years ago, said the celebs are “pretty composed” despite the free-flowing wine and champagne.

“Mostly people are happy to see each other,” he said. “In the film business, you’re off making movies everywhere and you don’t get to see each other. The Globes is a concentrated place where you get to reconnect with people.”
