Man sought in wife’s killing crashes car in police chase
PEABODY, Mass. (AP) — A Peabody man charged with beating his estranged wife to death has been arrested after crashing her car in a police chase.
The Essex district attorney’s office says 46-year-old Joseph Buonanduci was taken into custody at about 10 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 495 in Amesbury and taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Police began looking for Buonanduci after they found the body of 45-year-old Donna Buonanduci at his home Friday night. The couple’s son told police his mother had gone to his father’s home earlier and he hadn’t heard from her since. The son went to the house and called police when he found signs of a struggle.
Buonanduci is expected to be arraigned on a murder charge Monday in Peabody District Court. It’s not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
