COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) _ LaToya Rose made eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 points as Texas A&M beat No. 5 Iowa State 88-71 Saturday, the Cyclones’ second straight loss.

Texas A&M (10-5, 2-1 Big 12) beat Iowa State for the first time ever. The Aggies took an 11-4 lead after Rose hit three consecutive 3-pointers.

The Aggies set season highs in both 3-pointers attempted and made, finishing 11-for-26 from behind the arc.

Angie Welle led the Cyclones (13-3, 1-3) with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Iowa State closed to six points with nine minutes remaining. But the Aggies capitalized on a technical foul against the Iowa State bench with 3:29 left to ahead by 11 points.
