Boyd County drug bust nets five arrests
ASHLAND — The Boyd County Sheriff’s Department conducted a drug operation Friday that led to the arrest of five people from three different locations in the county.
Deputies arrested Kenneth E. Hunt, James F. Wright and Jamie N. Wright from Hunt’s house, located at 509 West Buckley Road in Westwood, Kentucky, according to a news release from the department.
Deputies seized 128.5 grams of heroin, valued at $28,180; 45 grams of meth, valued at $5,400; and 2 ounces of marijuana, as well as prescription medicine (oxycodone, Xanax and Suboxone).
A stash house was raided in the 2800 block of County Road in Westwood where deputies recovered more of the same drugs, along with counterfeit money and guns.
A third location, which was a room at the Knight’s Inn in Summit, Kentucky, was raided as well.
Walter K. Gibson and Bryttani W. Finley were arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.
Gibson also had an outstanding warrant in Kentucky for absconding on a prior possession of meth charge from 2018.
All five subjects were arrested and lodged at the Boyd County Jail on drug trafficking charges.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
