Vermont police confident they’ll apprehend murder suspect

June 9, 2015

WINDSOR, Vt. (AP) — The top criminal investigator for the Vermont State Police says he’s confident that police will capture the Windsor man charged with killing his estranged girlfriend in their hometown.

Capt. J.P. Sinclair says the last reliable sighting of 27-year-old Jason Kendall was late Monday afternoon in the Springfield, Massachusetts, area.

Sinclair says a description of Kendall’s car has been circulated to police in Massachusetts.

Kendall has been charged with second-degree murder in Monday’s shooting death of 22-year-old Molly Helland, of Windsor. Police say Helland recently ended her relationship with Kendall.

Police say Kendall was spotted stealing a license plate from a Massachusetts car on Monday before he was last seen in Springfield.
