HOUSTON _ Following the first regular season loss in more than four years, UConn coach Geno Auriemma didn’t know how his team was going to react. The Huskies came out with energy en route to a convincing win on Sunday. Katie Lou Samuelson had 19 points, Napheesa Collier added 18 points and the top-ranked UConn Huskies rebounded from a rare regular-season loss with an 81-61 win over Houston. LUBBOCK, Texas _ Freshman Queen Egbo had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 8 Baylor followed its victory over top-ranked UConn with a 73-56 win against Texas Tech in its Big 12 opener on Sunday. WINNIPEG, Manitoba _ Kyle Connor ended a 10-game pointless streak with a goal to help the Winnipeg Jets beat the Dallas Stars 5-1 on Sunday. BBO--METS-ASTROS TRADE

HOUSTON _ The Houston Astros have traded infielder J.D. Davis and a prospect to the New York Mets for three minor leaguers. The teams announced the trade Sunday. The 25-year-old Davis played 42 games for the Astros last season, when he hit .175 with a homer and five RBIs. In Triple-A Fresno, he hit .342 with 17 homers and 81 RBIs in 85 games.
