Florence firefighters respond to a structure fire
FLORENCE, S.C. – At 3:16 a.m. Sunday, the Florence Fire Department and Florence Police Department responded to a structure fire at 1924 Woods Drive.
The Florence Fire Department arrived on scene to confirm fire and smoke coming from the roof of the structure. Several hose lines were deployed that allowed Florence firefighters to control the fire in approximately 20 minutes after arriving on scene.
Florence firefighters remained on the scene for another hour or so to extinguish hot spots and do salvage and overhaul.
he cause of the fire was determined to be electrical but is believed to be accidental.
The Florence Fire Department responded with three engine companies, a ladder company and a command officer.
Also, the Florence Police Department and Florence County EMS were on scene. There were no injuries to report.
Red Cross was called to assist the homeowner.
