ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Anaheim Angels catcher Charlie O'Brien was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday because of a torn ligament and outfielder Reggie Williams was recalled from Triple-A Edmonton.

O'Brien tore the ligament while running to first base Wednesday in the Angels' 2-1 victory over Minnesota. An MRI determined it was a 50 percent tear.

O'Brien has only four hits in 51 at-bats this season, an .078 average.

Williams, 33, was batting .322 with 20 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, four home runs and 26 RBIs in 28 games at Edmonton.
