Golden Valley woman arrested on arson charges
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Golden Valley woman Tuesday on charges of arson, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after she allegedly set fire to a victim’s home.
Heather M. Amundson, 38, allegedly had an argument with the victim at their recreational vehicle. The victim departed, deputies said, and saw large flames rising over the vehicle shortly afterward. He ran toward the property and allegedly saw Amundson driving away.
The victim located Amundson at an I-40 truck stop an hour later, the report said, and contacted the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. When deputies arrived, however, Amundson was gone. The victim allegedly told deputies he attempted to confront Amundson, and she attempted to hit him with her truck.
Amundson was located again shortly afterward, at the victim’s residence. Deputies arrived and located Amundson, who was allegedly hiding under a bed. When deputies attempted to pull her out, she attempted to kick them, the report said. Deputies used an electronic stun device to subdue Amundson, and she was transported to Mohave County Jail without further incident.
