WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — A man goes on trial this week in the shooting death of a woman hit by a bullet outside her Pennsylvania home two years ago.

Twenty-four-year-old Knowledge Frierson is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, illegal firearm possession, receiving stolen property and robbery in the October 2015 death of 55-year-old Carolyn Barr in Williamsport.

The (Williamsport) Sun-Gazette reports that jurors were seated earlier this month for the Lycoming County trial.

The victim's nephew said he became concerned about a man who came repeatedly to his door and called Barr to pick his girlfriend up from work. He said he was escorting his aunt back to her car when a man leaped out of the bushes and attacked him, and the two struggled and exchanged shots, one of which hit Barr.
