NYSE Trading Resumes After Halt

October 26, 1998

NEW YORK (AP) _ Trading resumed at the New York Stock Exchange at 2:15 p.m. EST after a 59-minute halt.

While there’s been no comment from exchange officials, traders say it was a problem with computer screens on the floor that prompted the halt.

The market was higher before the problem arose and remained higher when trading picked back up.

Trading had continued on the electronic Nasdaq Stock Market and on the American Exchange.
