LITTLE ROCK, Ark. _ Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson is scheduled to sign into law a bill that would raise the minimum for teacher salaries in the state by $4,000 over the next four years. The governor’s office says the Republican governor will sign the bill at 2 p.m. Monday at the state Department of Education. SENT: 130 words. Will be updated.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. _ The Arkansas Senate has approved a plan to replace the state’s two statues at the U.S. Capitol with ones depicting singer Johnny Cash and civil rights leader Daisy Bates. The Senate voted 33-0 Monday in favor of the proposal to replace the two statues depicting Uriah Rose and James P. Clarke. The measure now heads to the state House. SENT: 130 words.
GUNS STOLEN _ Police say more than 70 guns have been stolen from a hardware store in northwest Arkansas.
