— ROAD RAGE CLASH: The widow of a former Ohio State football star says Delaware, Ohio, police used excessive force arresting her late husband, and a federal appeals court is allowing her lawsuit to proceed. Jim Stillwagon was a former Ohio State captain and member of the 1968 national championship team who died earlier this year.

— AIRPORT-WWII ROLE: A new memorial honoring Lunken Airport’s role during World War II is scheduled to be unveiled Saturday. The airport, also known as Cincinnati Municipal Airport, was the world headquarters of the Air Transport Commands Ferrying Division starting in 1943.

— FATAL GAS STATION SHOOTING: Cleveland police say a man has been shot and killed at a gas station. Police say the 31-year-old man was shot at a Sunoco gas station around 8 p.m. Thursday.




COLUMBUS -- The ongoing distraction of the Urban Meyer investigation and suspension might have affected Ohio State’s preparation for the season opener Saturday, but don’t expect too much drama. The No. 5 Buckeyes should have their way with the beleaguered Beavers, who are 38-point underdogs and coming to Ohio Stadium to play in front of an amped-up, football-starved crowd. By Mitch Stacy.
