January 5, 2019

BRIDGEPORT — The owner of a mobile home was displaced after a fire early Saturday morning, officials said.

Firefighters raced to the 500 block of Grant Street for a report of a mobile home fire around 2:45 a.m. The first units on scene found the mobile home parked in the driveway with a fully involved fire.

Minor damage was caused to a nearby building, but no one living inside was displaced, according to Deputy Fire Chief Lance Edwards.

“The owner of the mobile home was (displaced) and requested Red Cross for lodging,” Edwards said.

There were no injuries reported from the fire or from firefighters that responded. The blaze remains under investigation with the fire marshal.
