Los Angeles police shoot and wound woman armed with handgun
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say officers shot and wounded a woman armed with a gun in a residential neighborhood.
Officials say the woman was pointing a handgun at her own head when officers encountered her Sunday morning in Reseda.
Officials say the shooting happened as officers were trying to get the woman to put down the weapon. They didn’t say what immediately preceded the gunfire.
The woman was hospitalized in stable condition.
No officers were injured. A handgun was recovered at scene.
