Check citizen declarations with voting
My concern is with the process of registration to vote in Connecticut. Secretary of the State Denise Merrill’s office stated that people could register to vote just by showing proof of residency.
However, they also have to sign an affidavit saying that they are a citizen of the United States. When they sign this declaration and it is found that they are not a citizen of the United States, they are found to have committed a federal offense and there is a penalty.
Is anyone checking up on these “declarations?” I would be happy to help in this endeavor. My number is in the book.
