10 Workers Killed in Peru Mine Accident
LIMA, Peru (AP) _ Ten workers were killed Thursday when their cable car plummeted 125 feet down a mine shaft, police and mine officials said. There were no survivors.
The accident occurred at the Atacocha lead and zinc mine, in the Andean department of Pasco, 118 miles northeast of Lima.
The cable suspending the car snapped while the workers were ascending, said police.
