Heat warnings for eastern Montana through Sunday
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A heat wave is continuing in the northern Rockies.
Excessive heat warnings were in effect for eastern Montana through Sunday evening, with temperatures rising close to and into the triple digits.
Near Bonner, four firefighters suffered heat exhaustion while fighting a house fire on Friday in 100-degree heat.
Missoula Rural Fire District Chief Chris Newman said Saturday that two firefighters were treated at the scene and two others were taken to the hospital to be evaluated. They were later released.
The National Weather Service says temperatures across most of Montana are forecast to drop to near normal or even below on Monday.
