Missouri men’s basketball will have only one true road test during its nonconference schedule, which was officially set Monday.
The Tigers take on Iowa State on Nov. 9 in Ames, completing the home-and-home series started with the Tigers’ season-opening win over the Cyclones last Nov. 10 at Mizzou Arena.
This season, Missouri’s home opener is against Central Arkansas on Nov. 6.
The Tigers will participate in the eight-team Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands from Nov. 16-19. They face Kennesaw State at 2 p.m. Nov. 16 in their opening game and would face the winner of Oregon State and Old Dominion at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 18. Kansas State could loom in the Nov. 19 finals.
After returning home, Missouri will have a string of six home games. The Tigers host Temple on Nov. 27, Central Florida on Dec. 2, Texas-Arlington on Dec. 4, Oral Roberts on Dec. 7 and Xavier on Dec. 18.
The Bud Light Braggin’ Rights game against Illinois will be played at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Dec. 22.
Missouri closes out its nonconference schedule with a game against Morehead State on Dec. 29.
MU men’s golfer Stewart finishes second in Scottish Amateur
Missouri sophomore men’s golfer Jamie Stewart fell just short of a title in the Scottish Men’s Amateur tournament, which concluded Sunday.
Stewart, from Renfrewshire, Scotland, settled for second at Blairgowrie’s Rosemount Course, falling to 49-year-old Euan McIntosh 3&2 in the final.
Two MU women’s golfers compete in U.S. Amateur
Junior golfer Jessica Yuen and former MU golfer Julia Potter-Bobb both shot a 73 in the first round of the 2018 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship on Monday in Kingston Springs, Tennessee.
The score, two over par at The Golf Club of Tennessee, lands both golfers in a tie for 79th place.
Both will be looking to land in the top 64 after Tuesday’s round to advance to match play, beginning Wednesday. Potter-Bobb, who graduated from MU in 2010, will tee off at 8:08 a.m. Yuen’s round begins at 1:58 p.m.
