Company announces plans to buy 3 ski resorts
DOVER, Vt. (AP) — The parent company of a Vermont ski resort says it is buying three sister mountains in Pennsylvania.
Missouri-based Peak Resorts announced Monday it has entered an agreement to buy Snow Time for $76 million. Snow Time owns Liberty Mountain, Whitetail Resort and Roundtop Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports the three resorts have a combined 65 trails, more than 325 skiable acres and about 700 vertical feet of terrain.
Peak Resorts operates 14 ski areas, including Mount Snow in Vermont. The purchase will allow the company to expand into the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., market.
Peak Vice President of Operations Jesse Boyd says more details on what the purchase means for passholders will be released in October.
The purchase is expected to be complete before the 2018-19 ski season.
