Locheron gave up studying design to help Tulsane’s career. Tulasne said they were going to honeymoon in Corsica before he resumes training.

TOKYO (AP) - Randy Bass, formerly with the Texas Rangewrs, hit his 19th home run of the Japanese League baseball season, as the Hanshin Tigers edged the Chunichi Dragons 3-2 Saturday.

In an off-field development, the Kintestu Buffaloes released ex-major leaguer Bombo Rivera and signed outfielder-first baseman David Green, who formerly played with the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.

LE TOUQUET, France (AP) - A 19-year-old Polish rider, Dariusz Soroka, was killed Saturday when his horse fell on him during a jumping competition, police said.

Soroka, a student from Drzonkow, was killed instantly. Soroka fell when his horse, Tajfun, took the jump badly and the horse then fell on top of him.
