Jefferson County man indicted on federal child porn charges
A Jefferson County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of possessing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Scott Brady said.
Matthew James Kite, 22, of Reynoldsville was the sole defendant in a three-count indictment returned Sept. 27 and unsealed Wednesday.
According to the indictment, on or about Oct. 15, 2017, Kite received videos containing material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors. Additionally, on Oct. 26, 2017, and April 18, 2018, prosecutors say Kite possessed images and videos which involved the use of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, some of whom had not reached age 12.
If convicted, Kite faces up to 40 years in prison, a lifetime of probation and a fine of $750,000.
