Barnes & Noble Pop-up Store To Open Thursday
Three months after Barnes & Noble in the Arena Hub in Wilkes-Barre Twp. was heavily damaged by a tornado, the bookseller will open a temporary pop-up store in the East End Center at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Barnes & Noble announced the opening of its pop-up store on Facebook with a post that said, “Thanks and gratitude to all of you for your patience and understanding as we worked this summer to get the new place ready. See you Thursday!”
Barnes & Noble is leasing the space a short distance away in the closed Sears Outlet Store from Joe Amato, who owns the East End Center.
Work also continues at Barnes & Noble’s store in the Arena Hub. It is not clear when that will reopen. Jim Lampassi, vice president of real estate development for Barnes & Noble, previously said the goal is “to reopen as soon as possible.”
Amato said Barnes & Noble signed a six-month lease to occupy the 30,000-square-foot former Sears Outlet store that closed in June last year.
