Girl, 17, shot and killed in police freeway confrontation
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A police officer has shot and killed a 17-year-old girl on a Southern California freeway.
Authorities say the Fullerton officer shot the teenager during some kind of altercation Friday night on eastbound State Route 91 in neighboring Anaheim. She died at a hospital.
The girl’s name wasn’t immediately released. Anaheim police say the teenager was a suspect but why police confronted her and details of the shooting haven’t been released.
However, police say an item that appeared to be a handgun was found at the scene.
