Mary Hill -- Kenyon

Mary Dean Hill, 84, of Kenyon, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at North Ridge View Assisted Living.

She was born March 24, 1935, in Beulah, Mo., the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Kivett) Hildebrand. Mary graduated from Cabool High School. She attended nurses training near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., where she met Marvin Hill. On Nov. 23, 1954, she married Marvin Hill in Sandwich, Ill. The couple farmed in Illinois until moving to rural West Concord. The couple raised their family and farmed together until retiring in 1996.

Mary was a member of Hegre Lutheran Church, where she was active in circle, quilting club, WELCA and served on the church council. She was also active in 4-H and FFA. Mary was an avid seamstress and quilter; she made many quilts and clothes for her family and others. She also enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and watching birds.

She is survived by her children, Martin (Roxanne) Hill of Kenyon, Marliss (Keith) Derscheid of Kenyon, Marietta (Jamie) Laurenz of Portales, N.M., Mark (Barb) Kriske-Hill of Two Harbors, Marlin (Ellie) Hill of Newbury Park, Calif., and Marae (Jon) Wickum of Kenyon; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Basil (Mary Lou) Hildebrand of Osceola, Mo., and Rex (Dorletta) Hildebrand of Three Rivers, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hill.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 24, at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hegre Lutheran Church. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. May 25, at Hegre Lutheran Church with Pastor Renita Eidenschink officiating. Interment will be in the Hegre Lutheran Cemetery.
