Lowell police investigate pedestrian death
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Police in Lowell are searching for the vehicle that struck and killed a man crossing a city street.
Police say the victim was struck just before 11 p.m. Wednesday while crossing Westford Street. His name was not immediately made public.
A witness said the heavily damaged car then sped away.
Police have a detailed description of the car, including the license plate number and have already identified the owner.
The death remains under investigation.
