2 men held in separate fatal shootings in Revere
REVERE, Mass. (AP) — Two men have been ordered held without bail in connection with separate fatal shootings in Revere.
Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said 36-year-old Michael DeLeon, of Lynn, and 18-year-old Juan Gaviria, of Revere, were arraigned Monday in separate court hearings.
DeLeon is charged in a Dec. 10 shooting that left 66-year-old Peter Pitari and 35-year-old Cristy Johnson dead and another 35-year-old man seriously wounded.
Gavira is charged in the Jan. 23 shooting death of 18-year-old Andres Jaramillo. Prosecutors say another man wanted in the killing, 30-year-old Luis Urbaez, remains at large.
DeLeon’s lawyer said after Monday’s hearing that his client, who is due back in court Jan. 20, maintains his innocence, according to the Boston Herald. A lawyer for Gaviria, who is back in court Jan. 14, did not immediately comment.
