Man Accused of Shooting Truck Arrested, Weapons Cache Seized
PRYOR, Okla. (AP) _ Sheriff’s deputies responding to a report that a man was shooting his pickup truck said they found 21 guns in the vehicle, as well as $10,000 in cash and lots of ammunition.
But that was just the beginning.
A search of the man’s home turned up 92 more guns, marijuana and ″a couple of hundred pounds of bagged coins,″ said Bill Stout, a supervisor with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Roger Williams, 39, of Pryor, was charged with carrying concealed weapons, discharging a weapon in public and assaulting an officer. Other charges may be filed later, Stout said.
Williams was arrested Thursday after he allegedly shot his 1987 Dodge pickup several times in front of a convenience store. Authorities said he shot the truck with a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol. The other weapons recovered included AK-47 assault rifles and an Uzi submachine gun.
Stout said authorities weren’t sure why Williams shot the truck.
