Pelham Pours It on in 52-0 Victory
CONCORD -- In emphatic fashion, the Pelham High School football team climbed back to .500 on Friday night with a 52-0 drubbing of host Merrimack Valley.
Brett Lindsay scored four touchdowns and rushed for 142 yards to spark the potent Pythons, who evened their record at 2-2. Quarterback Ian Hoey threw for 71 yards and a touchdown and also ran for another TD.
The Pelham defense was just as impressive, holding MV to less than 80 total yards. Linebacker Evan Haskins stripped the ball from a Merrimack Valley running back and returned it 31 yards for a defensive TD in the fourth quarter to highlight the defense’s excellent showing.
“I thought we did a great job in the first half executing. We made a few adjustments, buttoned-up some mistakes, and played a great second half as well,” said Pelham coach Tom Babaian.
The Pythons jumped out to an 18-0 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 33-0 at the half.
Matt Crowley and Mason Fecteau added touchdown runs for Pelham. As a team, PHS had 259 rushing yards.
