Shelton man arrested in bar stabbing
SHELTON — Police arrested a 60-year-old Shelton man Friday night after he allegedly stabbed a man in the neck.
Police reported that an officer working private detail at Central Street Social at 127 Center Street arrested Stephen Staffy shortly after an altercation began around 10:45 p.m. Officers said Staffy and a 22-year-old man had an argument in the bar before Staffy pulled out a knife and placed it to the victim’s neck before stabbing him. Police said employees of the bar detained Staffy before police arrested him.
Police reported the victim was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Staffy was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. He is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
