Redskins Sign Bates, Two Others
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Five-time Pro Bowl kick returner Michael Bates has signed with the Washington Redskins.
Bates’ two-year, $1.32 million deal includes a $100,000 signing bonus. It was completed Monday after the Redskins created salary cap space by renegotiating safety Sam Shade’s contract.
Bates had been released by Carolina in a salary cap move.
The Redskins also signed strong safety Jason Kaiser and defensive back Central McClellion. Kaiser is a former CFL player and McClellion played in the CFL and NFL Europe.
