Volleyball: Dawson defeats Pearland in four sets
Dawson avenged an early-season defeat and moved back into contention for the District 23-6A volleyball crown with a four-set win over Pearland Friday night.
The Lady Eagles (32-7) improved to 6-1 in district matches, leaving them just a half-game behind George Ranch (7-1) with their 23-25, 25-20, 25-9, 25-23 win over the Lady Oilers at the Pearland gym.
Pearland (21-14, 6-2) defeated Dawson in four sets at Dawson earlier this season.
Kaylie Kovach led Pearland with nine kills while Jackie Arrington had six kills and three blocks. April Conant also had six kills.
The Lady Oilers were paced by Katie Whitehead with 19 assists and Megan Hinks with 15. Chloe Jordan had 23 digs for Pearland.
