Pita Pit brings in changes for 2019
As the holiday season has wrapped up, why not enjoy a nice wrap? First opening its doors in March 2007, the Huntington location of the Pita Pit has been providing a healthy alternative to traditional fast food for over a decade.
The Pita Pit is a chain established in Kingston, Ontario, in 1995. The original location was near Queen’s University, so the restaurants are a common sights in college towns.
“This coming March will mark 12 years for us. The Pita Pit originally grew around late night dining, but over the years we have become more oriented around the lunch rush and a business crowd,” said Stetson Myers, owner of the Huntington Pita Pit.
“Over the years, we’ve freshened up some paint and added some new wall murals. We are currently planning on starting a new refresh program, putting in some new tables and chairs. Every five years or so we try to do an update. We want everything to look clean and current.”
Pitas range from $5.59 for a small to $6.99 for a large. One of the new additions to the menu is the “Baja Chicken Bacon Ranch,” which has chicken, bacon, grilled onions, avocado, romaine lettuce, cilantro, pepper jack cheese and a jalapeno ranch dressing.
There’s also a bacon cheeseburger pita filled with steak, bacon, melted cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes pickles, onion, mustard, light mayo and a smokehouse maple seasoning.
“We recently went to a new style menu with our Chef Inspired Artisan Pitas. They come with a selected list of toppings that taste good on them but you can also customize them. The most popular Pitas are the Buffalo Chicken and the Philly Steak,” Myers explained.
“We also offered the option of a gluten-free wrap to the menu. All of our pitas are available four ways. With a regular or whole wheat pita bread, a gluten-free wrap or a salad. We launched a new app to go with the menu. You can order either on our website or through the app.”
New customers can get 20 percent off their first online order at order.pitatpitusa.com.
There are also daily specials such as Marshall students and staff getting 10 percent off on “Marshall Mondays” and $1 off salads on “Fork Style Fridays.’”
