Teenager confesses after more than two dozen cars burglarized
A trio of teenagers have been identified after being observed on security footage breaking into cars in Sienna Plantation.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, deputies took multiple Burglary of a Motor Vehicle reports on Dec. 5. The cases occurred Dec. 4 and into the early morning hours of Dec. 5. The Sheriff’s Office reports that more than 20 vehicles had been burglarized.
A female was observed through security footage. Deputies then canvassed the area, speaking to several residents and victims. Multiple residents said the female suspect looked similar to a local teen.
Deputies were able to locate the teen’s home, get a confession, consent to search, and recovered almost all of the property.
“I want to thank Sgt. Matthew Hricko and his team of deputies in Sienna Plantation for their incredibly quick and thorough work and continued efforts to serve the community,” said Sheriff Troy Nehls.
The 17-year-old female suspect confessed to burglarizing 20 to 30 vehicles with her 15-year-old brother along with another male student from a local high school.
Charges are being pursued against all three suspects.
