Two held without bond on charges

August 11, 2018

Two people arrested by Brownsville Drug Enforcement Administration agents Monday will remain in jail pending the resolution of their cases.

Federal authorities arrested Rosales Roberto Jr. and Sarahi Hernandez on Monday, and charged them with knowingly and intentionally possessing with the intent to distribute approximately five kilograms of methamphetamine and .8 kilograms of heroin, and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute the same, court records show.

Both Roberto and Hernandez waived a preliminary examination and detention hearing Thursday, court records indicate.

The duo is being held without bond pending trial because each was ruled a flight risk because of the nature of the offense, prior criminal history, continued criminal activity while under supervision, ties to Mexico and a lack of verifiable employment, according to the order of detention.
