Blue Angels Plane Crashes in Ga.
MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (AP) _ A jet from the Navy’s Blue Angels precision flying team crashed Thursday while trying to land during a training flight in southern Georgia.
The plane went down around 12:30 p.m. near Moody Air Force Base, Pentagon spokesman Ken Bacon told reporters in Washington.
``They were coming in to land, practicing arrival maneuvers when this happened,″ Bacon said.
He had no other details, including whether there were any casualties.
The Blue Angels were scheduled to perform two shows this weekend during Moody’s Community Appreciation Day.
The stunt team has six F/A-18 jets and is based at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida.
